Where It Began
I Am a Mother First.
Finding a good snack for my family felt impossible. I had two terrible choices staring at me every time I walked down the snack aisle.
I kept looking at the back of snack bags and seeing a list of chemicals I couldn't even read. I refused to feed that to my kids.
So I went the other way. Fresh fruit. It sounds simple. Until you actually try to feed it to a kid every day.
The Fake Food Problem
Snack bags full of chemicals I couldn't pronounce. Artificial colors, fake flavors, preservatives. I looked at the ingredients list and refused to feed that to my family.
The Fresh Fruit Trap
Buy it. Wait days for it to ripen. Cut it — sticky kitchen. Pack it in a lunchbox. By noon it's a warm, mushy mess your kid throws away. A huge waste of time, money, and food.
The Breakthrough
That Is How FreezeDriedJo Was Born.
I wanted something better. Real, healthy food that lasts a long time in the cupboard. And most of all — zero sticky fingers.
We found a way to use extreme cold to pull the water out of local fruit. What's left behind is something remarkable.
